ADVISORY: NEW UK STUDENT VISA GUIDELINES IMPLEMENTED BY END MARCH 2009

The UK Government announced the implementation of a new system for the entry of foreign students into the UK starting the end of March 2009.
Under the new UK Points Based System (PBS) of Migration, students will now fall under Tier 4 of the PBS.

There are now 2 categories of student visas:

Over 16 years old : General Student Visa (over 6 months of study) OR
Student Visitor Visa (under 6 months of study)

Under 16 years old: Child Student Visa (over 6 months of study) OR
Child Visitor Visa (under 6 months of study)

Under the Tier 4 classification, students will be granted visas or stays for the length of their respective courses.
