As for the dogs breed, if not for the visible erect ears I don't see any trace of GSD or Pitbull in your dog. However I think your Dog is not too far from a Basenji. And the erect ears is a pointer to this despite not having a wrinkled fore head. Does he bark or whine or crowl? Curled tail, cat like attitude?

Try take brighter pictures Sha I might be wrong.

Cutting/copping off tails and ears don't make any dog a pitbull, just like parking urself in a garage will turn u into a car.

Thanks for posting those pics of what a Pitbull is like. Our OP's dog is quite a beautiful Nigerian Mongrel/Mutt. I believe with proper training and care the dog will turn out well. I have actually seen the Nigerian Mongrel dogs that are smart and obey some simple commands. It all depends on commitment to training.
