Kingdom Hearts fans were promised big things at D23 Expo
this weekend and Square Enix delivered. Not only did it offer firm confirmation that Kingdom Hearts 3 will launch in 2018, but we even got a new trailer showing off a new world that Sora, Donald and Goofy will visit on their adventure: Toy Story.

Toy Story joins Tangled, Big Hero 6 and Olympus Colosseum

Disney used its D23 conference this weekend to reveal some of its new videogame projects. One of them was a
collaboration between Oculus Studios, Marvel
Entertainment, and Sanzaru Games, resulting in Marvel:
Powers United VR, a virtual reality videogame in which
players take control of various Marvel superheroes and get
to experience their powers in first person.

Launching in 2018 exclusively for Oculus Rift, the game will
also make use of the Touch controls to offer the most
immersive experience featuring Marvel superheroes. Some
of the confirmed controllable character so far include Rocket Racoon, Mrs. Marvel, The Hulk, and Conan the Accuser, each featuring their own unique gameplay style. The combat with Hulk is more focused on short-distance punches with his arms, while Mrs. Marvel can launch long-range energy rays.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is easily one of the biggest
and most successful indie games of all time. The game takes
the battle royale concept that has been the subject of
countless mods and fine tunes it to near perfection. An Xbox
One version is planned for later, but right now it’s lighting up the Steam charts, with it recently hitting the fourth highest number of concurrent players on the platform. This puts it above such all time greats as GTA V, Payday 2, and Left 4 Dead 2.

The info was shared by the official account for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, marking the moment when
it passed GTA V. The player counts at the time were 382,561
for PUBG, achieved this month, and 360,761 for GTA V,
which the game hit back in April 2015. To be clear, these are
the games’ all time high concurrent player counts.

Current charts, as in real-time, still show PUBG on top,
resting in third behind DOTA 2 and CS:GO, and above GTA V,
H1Z1: King of the Kill, and many more. This is likely a very
good sign for the future of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,
which has been growing a bigger and bigger audience all the
time.

The game still sits at or near the top of the Steam “Best
Seller” chart, and with an Xbox One version in the works
there’s nowhere to go but up.

Recently, it was officially announced that Trunks will be joining the roster for the upcoming fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ. Yesterday (July 18), two more characters were confirmed: Krillin and Piccolo.
Piccolo will have the ability to stretch out his arms and grab his opponents. He will also have charge attacks, can break his opponents’ guards and “can fire beams at super high speeds.” Krillin, on the other hand, has low power and reach, but has several unique techniques. Krillin will have a move called “Afterimage Technique,” with which Krillin leaves behind an image of himself before attacking. He will also be able to use his signature attack, “Destructo Disc,” which cannot be blocked. Krillin can also use Kamehameha and make his Ki blasts explode in the sky to rain down more Ki blasts.

Telltale Games Announces New Seasons for Three
Games in Summer Update

The first new game Telltale announced was a second season of Batman, which will be entitled Batman: The Enemy
Within.

The next two announcements were more vague as they both
won’t be coming out until 2018. One of these
announcements is probably the biggest Telltale series
of all time, The Walking Dead. It was confirmed that the
fourth season of The Walking Dead will be coming out in 2018 and that it will also be the final season of the series.

The last announcement is one that was also rumored earlier
this week, but was then basically denied by Telltale, only to
be confirmed during this summer update. The Wolf Among
Us is getting a second season and will be coming in 2018.
