A bank in Brazil has been fined by authorities for forcing one of their customers to remove his shoes before allowing him to gain entry into the bank. The bank also told him to remove his wrist watch, phones and also empty his pockets.

He was told by the bank guards that “if he wanted to enter, he’d have to go in socks,” a spokesperson for the federal court said. At at about the time, he was asked to remove his shoes, there started to be a build up of mammoth crowd outside the bank because they found it strange.

The court in his judgement stated that the victim was made to suffer public disgrace and humiliation when he was compelled to enter the bank shoeless. The judge then asked the bank to pay £939 or $1,430 to the customer to compensate him.

In a similar incidence, in another state, according to a local newspaper was extremely angry when subjected to this ordeal and she said she had to take off her clothes in a sign of protest. Infact she was caught on camera in her underwear at the bank. However, she has been charged for indecent act.
