As a chord is struck, the instrument comes alive. Atoms in the air molecules surrounding the keys stirs into a sort of dance state that transmits through air columns and fills everywhere with an energy flow that pulsates in rhythmic accord. As the excitation persists in a somewhat deliberated order, a tune is born and true to type, bodies begin to resonate to the ensuing melody in a rather orchestrated unison and the atmosphere is suddenly agog in a mood of overwhelming déjà vu. The force of the music, though unseen is felt in such vividness as bodies sway in all directions, giving control to some subconscious ambivalence, that manifest in both nodding and shaking of the head as if to express an unsettling state of self. Indeed, the music is a medium that permeates through to the dividing of soul and spirit, creating an umbilical to feed the mind with subtle diversities of messages. Messages of wisdom, of courage, of love, of purpose and of meanings, in the midst of musical bliss and indulgent exhilaration. The “Agidigbo” exemplifies this scenario; giving life to these messages and utilising the surreal nature of music to deliver subtle truth while entertaining the audience.
