Portions of east/west road between ughelli and ahoada may be submerged by early november this year. Already the river Niger has overflowed its topmost bank levels and water level at many parts of the road are less than 1.5m below road levels. If the water continues rising at the current rate because of the heavy and longer rainy season in the region this year, we can expect some parts of the road to shut down as happened in 2012.
