Hello Nairalanders,
I am about entering the University and i fear that i might run mad because i like reading. I have heard so many times that students got mad because of too much/excessive reading. I would like to know your opinion on this

I don't believe so

reading under normal condition should be a kind of mental nourishment; improving the human brain and level of intelligence no matter what you read.

But meanwhile, some student can be so funny to starve themselves and skip nights for reading without a compesatory rest during the day.

Such student may beging with hallucination followed by delusion and schizophrenia may set in, especially if genetically susceptible to such.

Their are a lots of imformation contain in books, take your time & do your best dovouring as many as you can lay your hands on, but never forget your health in the process.


Read under good light,
take balance diet,
if you can't avoid night reading, compesate for it during the day,
take short breaks while reading, it helps your assimilation.

And don't forget to read beyond accademics.
