Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Thursday,dissolved the caretaker committees of 22 local government areas in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Taria, the dissolution was with immediate effect.

The affected local council bosses were sworn into office by the present administration on July.

The local government caretaker committee chairmen, whose statutory three-month tenure expired on Wednesday, were directed to hand over to the Head of Local Government Administrations of their respective local councils.
