I attended an interview in one of the federal universities in Southern Nigeria since March, 2015. I've been reliably informed that I was successful; the issue is that, there is a federal embargo on the appointment of new staff at the federal level at the moment (as I was told). I have no idea how long this would last; I have no idea if this is limited to certain federal universities or not.

Who else is in my shoes?

I have started mine in a university since 2012 and up till now have not got the letter.

How were you able to start without the letter? Is this possible? I'm tempted to ask if you've been getting your pay so far.

There is nothing I have not done. I've been to the HOD of the Department, the Dean of the Faculty, and the Senate of the school. They are all saying the same thing. No money to pay new staff, federal embargo.

I'm not the only one affected. This gives me courage. No one from the set of applicants invited for that interview has been issued the letter. This is good, I think. At least I know that I'm still on the "struggle"....I've not been pushed aside.

Msc for an asst lecturer position and Phd for lecturer proper. Uniben's msc form is out so hurry so u can easily fulfil ur lecturing interests. Adios!

I submitted my application with some universities including Olabisi Onabanjo University, till now no response at all.

Any information on work and stay in Dubai for lecturing?
