Fresh facts have emerged on how former Bayelsa governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha lost the battle to cardiac arrest earlier today. According to a source, Alamieyeseigha, who died at the age of 63, was said to have died at University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital where we was receiving medical attention.




According to the source, "Apparently Alams has been battling ill health, some rumored he never recovered from complications of infections on his tummy tuck surgery he had in 2005 (he was arrested almost immediately after) but my sources say he had HBP issues and kidney problems.



"I understand he was in a Dubai hospital when news came to him that the UK had demanded his extradition again, he apparently hurried back home so as not to be in danger of the Dubai authorities handing him over to the UK like they did James Ibori.



"He returned to his village Amassouma (in Bayelsa State) where he was said to have had a severe cardiac arrest on Thursday the 8th of October and he was then taken to a hospital in Port Harcourt where he eventually passed on today Saturday 10th October 2015."
