REALITY of the Dunya (best example)
Allah (SWT) says in the Quran " Do not forget your portion of this Dunya" Imam Qurtubi says: your portion of this Dunya is your Kuffan,that the only thing you will take from this Dunya is your Kuffan. Everything else you leave them behind,your cars,your bank balances,you take nothing! Your popularity,your fancy scarfs,your nice homes,your nice garments,everything remains behind. What you go with to the grave is your two Kuffans,that's it! This is the reality of the Dunya,but we are often deceived by the Dunya.
One of the most beautiful examples of the reality of the Dunya,is the example given by Imam Gaazali (Rohimohullah) about the Dunya. He speaks about a man who's walking through the jungle and while he's walking he looks behind and sees a lion chasing him,and he runs,he comes to a well,he jumps into the well. While he's falling,he manages to hold a rope and he breathes a sigh of relief. He looks up and sees the lion hovering over him,waiting for him,and he looks down and beneath him is a large serpent with his mouth open waiting for him to fall. The only support he has is the rope,and after a while he sees a black mouse and white mouse set upon the rope. They begin to nibble the rope,above is the lion,beneath is the serpent and the the only support is the rope,that's being nibble at. In front of him he sees this honey comb, he sticks his finger into the honey and places it upon his tongue. The sweetness of the honey,momentarily makes him to forget the lion,the snake,and the two mice. Imam Gazaali (Rohimohullah) says,the lion is death which is always chasing you,the serpent is your grave,into which every person will fall. If he is good person,it will be a garden from the paradise,and if he is evil,it will be one of the pit from the pits of the Jahannam. The rope is his life,the black mouse denotes the night,the white mouse denotes the day. They are always nibbling upon your life,the honey is the Dunya,a man tastes the sweetness of the Dunya and he forgets death,he forgets the grave,he forgets a day will come that he will die and he and he will have to stand in front of his creator. THIS IS THE REALITY OF THE DUNYA
