EMEKA NWAIJUBA
[b] IGBO’S PROTOTYPE OF MODERN NIGERIA LEADERSHIP

[b]Today’s “change” oriented leadership in Nigeria, forecloses any perceivable exuberance that hitherto before now admits solace in criminality; corruption was then the order of the day, and zero consideration for public plight enveloping the political motives behind Governments actions and inactions. In place now is the Buhari’s change revolution, like a raging fire, intent on desecrating a negative norm, it sweeps through the basket of political wastes that has since held the largest black nation in the world at its jugglers, finally a glimpse of brighter hope for the ever hopeful Nigerian people!

Though, imperative it has fast become for Nigerian leadership adjustment to today’s “Buhari’s change” to expedite quick development without grudge. Many have resorted to cosmetics change cum false impression, wolves in sheep’s clothing! In a bid to hoodwink the President’s drive for positive change, political leaders of old and new, seem to have integrated the chameleonic art of forceful attempt at quickly swapping characters for selfish purposes. Little wonder, President Buhari, in his wisdom, may have decided to take sole responsibility in the selection of who works with him, preferring tested and trusted dedicated personalities who hold service above self interest, no matter which part of the country they come from.

From the heartland of the South-east, Imo state, a most familiar face presents true replica to the features that characterize Nigeria’ present leadership ideals; having been with President Buhari over years in “thick and thin”, their perspectives match the ideologies that they both share for a new and better Nigeria.

Honorable EmekaNwaijuba, a former House of Representative member, seen as the closest ally of President Muhammadu Buhari in the South-east. “Simplicity” understates the true nature of Honorable Nwaijuba; “Honorable” in every sense of the word. He comes with extras to the table, brandishing candour. Emeka brings contemporary leadership to the door-steps of a people’s lack of direction. His feat as a House Member representing his constituency, Okigwe South Federal constituency, remains to be broken. At the time of being in the House, 1999-2003, Emeka was the House committee Chairman on Works and Housing. His time in the House passed with indelible achievements that gave the House its “working” tag; representing a perfect border-line between the Youths and the older generation, he possessed that multi-faceted reach that falls in contradistinction to leadership archaism.

In one of his pre-election visits to the south-east, President MuhammaduBuhari, ably led by Honorable EmekaNwaijuba, reiterated his trust in Emeka. This he said while addressing an excited crowd in Abia state. Even though Emeka’s seemingly humble disposition to life may have endeared him to the people, his relationship with Buhari is founded on persevered trust and belief that tested the resolution of a simple natured man’s belief to a collective good.

Obviously, he knew what he was doing holding on with Buhari, from CPC to the formation of APC. It was ideology based, an option not everyone would dare take in the face of juicy advances by the then ruling PDP. It paid off, and better for Nigeria! Emeka’s effort and drive towards this new and perceivably better Nigeria could be narrowed to his political foresight, true as it seems. An in-born cogent leadership character re-echoes the undiluted consistency of this UmuezealaNsu-born political architect.
