I have read many writeups on nairaland on the ancestry of some areas of niger delta namely the ikweres,andonis,anioma and ukwuani.....first of all we have understand that your name is your identity.secoundly,your cultural practise tells who you are.while your present geographical location influences you..if the kabba man in kogi state bears the name yomi and a guy from a village in edo bears dele and an average yoruba man accept them to be yorubas,what stops an ordili in rivers or emeka in delta from being igbo. For many of you that are ignorant of our history o will advice you to watch nta.they have a history programme called kings of the niger.there you will see some documented facts stored in the archieves of nta on how we higer deltans faired we the igbos.the story of the women riot was aired and showed how our ancestors related in unity.We ikweres have a similar cultural dance steps with the owere people in imo,the anioma with the anambraians.if we are from edo like some one said, why are we not practising even one one the edo cultures like the yoruhas practise theres.why are we not atleast bear edo names or spesk edo language.....I opened this thread to warn all those especally the yorubas and some of our foolish brothers who derive joy in dividing us to desist from doing so.your Fathers deseived our fathers now you youth wants to deseive this generation....if you yorubas amd hausas are husy preaching unity.why are you developing goose pimples over the eastern region.
