Publisher of Authority Newspaper, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah has been commended for his efforts in investing in the media industry, thereby creating jobs for youths and professionals in Nigeria.

Ubah, Chairman and Chief Executive of Capital Oil and Gas Limited has just unveiled the newspaper which an Igbo group described as a welcome development in the deepening of democracy through an unfettered press.

In a statement issued in Owerri at the weekend, the Chancellor of Coalition of Eastern Nigeria Political Pressure Groups (CENPPG), Nze Elvis Agukwe expressed the confidence that the new newspaper will assist in the acceleration of the Nigerian society through robust and incisive journalism.

Nze Agukwe, a former Commissioner for Information in Imo State said it was gratifying that Chief Ifeanyi Ubah has consistently sought ways of creating jobs for the youths while at the same time developing the society.

"We in CENPPG are happy that at a relatively young age, the new publisher has conquered the world of politics, business, sports and humanity and has now delved into the media. We salute his doggedness and urge him to march on because Ndigbo are proud of him", he said.

He noted that Chief Ubah has followed the trail of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and Dr Orji Uzor Kalu as notable Igbo leaders who elected to protect the interest of Ndigbo through their media outfits.

According to him, with the coming of the new newspaper, Ndigbo and their affairs would get more mention in national discourse while others will benefit through direct and indirect employment.

Praying for the success of Authority Newspaper, Nze Agukwe said he had no doubt that the new outfit would do well given the antecedents of the publisher.

Said he, "Like anything he touches, we know that the Authority newspaper will go to the top"!

He enjoined other Igbo entrepreneurs and successful people of emulate Chief Ifeanyi Ubah in creating jobs for the people and empowering the less privileged through philanthropy.
