Igbo's It Time To Set The Record Straight. by morbeta(m): 3:50pm On Oct 19, 2015
SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT:
The removal of history from school curriculum in Nigeria was deliberate. Here are some facts about academia in Nigeria. Don't let anyone deceive you. These facts can be verified.
•The first Black Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan was an Igbo man named Professor Kenneth Dike.
•The first Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos was an Igbo man named Professor Eni Njoku.
•The first Nigerian Rector of the then Yaba College of Technology was also an Igbo man
The first Nigerian Professor of Mathematics was an Igbo man named Professor Chike Obi – the man who solved Fermat’s Last Theorem. He was followed by another Igbo man named Professor James Ezeilo, Professor of Differential Calculus and the founder of the Ezeilo Constant.
The first Nigerian professor of history was an Igbo man Professor Kenneth Dike who also became the first black vice chancellor of the University of Ibadan.
The first Nigerian Professor of Botany was an Igbo man named Professor Eni Njoku. He went on to become the very first vice chancellor of the university of LAGOS.
The first Nigerian Professor of Anatomy and Physiology is Professor Chike Edozien an Igbo man who is also the current Obi of Asaba.
The first Nigerian Professor of Physics was Professor Okoye an Igbo man who became a Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA in 1960. He was followed by the likes of Professor Alexander Anumalu who has been nominated for the Nobel Prize for Physics three times for his research in Intermediate Quantum Physics.
In Nuclear Physics and Chemistry – again another Igbo man – Professor Frank Ndili who gained a Ph.D in his early ’20s at Cambridge Univesity in Nuclear Physics and Chemistry in the early ’60s. This young Asaba man had made a First Class in Physics and Mathematics at the then University College Ibadan in the early ’50s.
First Professor of Statistics – Professor Adichie who’s research on Non-Parametric Statistics led to new areas in statistical research.
What about the first Nigerian Professor of Medicine – Professor Kodilinye – he was appointed a Professor of Medicine at the University of London in 1952. He later became the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka after the war.
What about Astronomy – again another Igbo man was the first Professor of Astronomy – please, look up Professor Ntukoju – he was the first to earn a double Ph.D in Astronomy and Mathematics.
Let’s go to the Social Sciences – Demography and statistical research into population studies – again another Igbo man – Professor Okonjo who set up the first Centre for Population Research in Ibadan in the early ’60s. A double Ph.D in Mathematics and Economics.
Philosophy – Professor G D Okafor, who became a Professor of Philosophy at the Amherst College USA in 1953.
Economics – Dr. Pius Okigbo who became a visiting scholar and Professor of Economics at the University of London in 1954. He is also the first Nigerian Ph.D in Economics.
Theology and theological research – Professor Njoku who became the first Nigerian to earn a Ph.D in Theology from Queens University Belfast in Ireland. He was appointed a Professor of Theology at the University College Zambia in 1952.
The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has a record of the state with the highest number of professors in Nigeria and as at 2014 that state is Imo State. You can go to this commission and verify.
Anambra state was the first in WAEC, UNITY SCHOOLS ENTERANCE EXAMS, NECO AND PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Therefore, whenever some people address you Igbos as mere traders, tell them that in addition to doing very well in business, science, technology and SPORTS you are also ahead in academia. No amount of hatred can change blessings from God almighty. Let the hating continue while we keep doing what we know best, DEVELOPMENT!
ADVICE TO NIGERIANS; Let us compete fairly (without quota system) and give the best positions to our brightest – be it Igbo, Yourba, Hausa or Fulani, and then we shall see who the most successful Nigerians are.
IGBO KWENU, KWENU, KWEZUENU!

These ones you mentioned are the ones they couldn't suppress their achievements. I guess you don't knw about the great talented set of the 50s and 60s - these are intelligent and brilliant set of igbo youths studying in the few universities in Nigeria then and were discovered to be leading in all aspect of studies in Nigerian universities. These crop of youths then were so smart, intelligent and superb in all their various fields of studies that they dominated every other tribe in Nigerian universities.

These young men where hunted down and killed by the Nigerian army during the civil war. the war wasn't fought to keep Nigeria one - No! it was a planned genocide to decimate the super-talented igbos that seem to be taking over the country with their intelligence.

After succeeding in decimating us, and the yorubas being scared that the igbos might rise again, they advised their hausa-fulani masters to setup programmes that will systematically emasculate the igbos and deny them rights to proper education, good health and economic empowerment - and they labelled it 'quota system'!

After the pogrom, they believed deep inside them that the igbos will not rise again ever!

But the truth is - you cannot hold a man down whom his chi is so determined on bringing him up.

No other tribe in Nigeria nor any group in the world can survive what Ndi Igbo survived or are still struggling to survive today.

The Igbos are the only tribe in Nigeria with genuine desire for one Nigeria - check history and you will see that there is no part of Nigeria that the Igbos did not contribute positively to its development and are still doing so till today.

My only grouse with the present generation of igbos is that we are becoming too desperate - thou i don't blame the igbo youths for that cause its a trap setup by the yorubas and their fulani masters as part of the game plan to destabilize the igbos by denying us federal government presence in education, health and infrastructures, i still wish we can be diplomatic by being as clever as the serpent and gentle as the dove by taking things easy - Igbo leaders should re-introduce empowerment of the igbo youths thru individual or group support in education of our youths, empowering them like its done those days in anambra - thru the principle of "Nwanne melu ibe ya" and also embark on massive political education of our youths thru the principle of "Spread your eggs in various baskets" - that way, we will systematically penetrate the government by being adequately represented in all political parties - thats the only way we will quickly regain both economic and political strength that will propel us to the tops again.
