This thing is simple, change the color of the currency and see that the amount of money that will come into circulation will marvel you.this will go a long way to take care of these issues.

Bring back soludo as cbn governor...he's all we need now

Mr Soludo was a terrible CBN Governor who almost brought Nigeria's banking system to total collapse.

Under him, gangsters masquerading as bank CEOs used depositiors money like it was theirs - one of them aqcuired over 100 properties in Dubai and other places.

Unfortunately, Mr Emefiele does not radiate the confidence of someone who knows what he is doing. But we have to stick with him and hope he comes good.

The central bank policy of currency restriction and protection of the value of naira is killing the Nigerian economy. We don't live in a vacuum. The international community know that naira is over valued. They are not fools. It doesn't matter what the central bank governor is telling us, seasoned economists in other countries know that we are living in a fool's paradise. CBN policies are killing the Nigerian economy. We just don't see the measured effect on day to day basis. Manufacturing sector is dying. By the time we realize it Ghana and other Sub Sahara African countries have over taken us. Then you will wonder how overnight countries we were better than are now way ahead of us.

Devalue the naira now!!!! Remove currency restrictions!!!! Reduce interest rates !!!!! Now!!!!

The problem with a lot of things in Nigeria is we have no long term plan. We are always concerned with how we can be satisfied now.

The FRCN’s report on Sanusi

The decision to suspend the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Sanusi Lamido was based on a report of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria dated June 7, 2013.

The report was made after a review of Sanusi’s response to the query issued to him by the President over the apex bank’s financial statement of 2012. His response was dated May 20, 2013.

According to a copy of the report obtained by our correspondent on Thursday, the council indicates that the explanation provided by the suspended CBN governor is “a clear display of incompetence, nonchalance, fraud, wastefulness, and abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts on the part of the leadership of the CBN.”

The council advised the President to exercise the powers conferred on him by Section 11(2)(f) of the CBN Act 2007 or invoke Section 11(2)(c) of the said Act “and cause the governor and the deputy governors to cease from holding office in the CBN.”

The report read: The particulars of the infractions against Sanusi are:

Persistent refusal and/or negligence to comply with the Public Procurement Act in the procurement practices of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

(A) By virtue of Section 15 (1)(a) of the Public Procurement Act, the provisions of the Act are expected to comply to ‘all procurement of goods, works and services carried out by the Federal Government of Nigeria and all procurement entities.’ This definition clearly includes the Central Bank of Nigeria.

(B) It is however regrettable that the Central Bank of Nigeria, under his leadership, has refused and/or neglected to comply with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act (PPA). You will recall that one of the primary reasons for the enactment of the PPA was the need to promote transparency, competitiveness, cost of effectiveness and professionalism in the public sector procurement system.

Sanusi should mind his emirate business. It's these series of devaluation that have brought Nigeria to this irreparable scene.
Re: Nigeria Needs To Devaluate Naira, Ease Dollar Restrictions- Sanusi by chyket(m): 4:35pm On Oct 23, 2015
What Sanusi said its the only way for Nigeria to move forward. The current exchange rate is artificial.
During the regime of President Yaradua;the price of oil equally crashed and ex CBN Gov Soludo had to do the needful and devalued the naira from about 118/$ to about 185/$ .The dollars were available and business of the nation moved on.
Currently, the CBN Gov Emefiele has almost pegged the naira to almost a fixed rate and the US dollars are not available to companies, businesses etc. Many businesses are comatose and people have even resorted to swallowing dollars to be able to cross it abroad to buy goods.

He was NOT gentle.
He is a democrat who believes, more than those before him as president and the 36 state governors who worked with him, that our INSTITUTIONS should be independent for a better society. We, the citizens, are the gentle ones who could not also have adequate focus on these institutions (apart from the president) so all works for good.

FYB:
Sanusi should calm down and concentrate on his Emirates. ......CBN is in a save hand. Buhari is also comfortable with the CBN monetary policy. sad

This is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth,

The world bank and its IMF cousin are financial terrorists who take pleasure in impoverishing Black people.

A reckless devaluation of our currency will impoverish our people more and make life and existence harder for our people. What we need to do as a people is to stop our reckless levels of importation, stop consuming unnecessary things we cannot produce. Oil can no longer support our 'I must have the best' mentality when we produce next to nothing.

I think people like Sanusi are so spineless they cannot fight or protect our interest when presented with the microphone by our Western adversaries (the west). He is speaking on CNBC so he is towing the lines of the IMF and World bank, institutions that are created to profit by inflicting misery around the world.

The same goes for NOI. she came in and pushed policies that has rendered us poor immediately after the record oil price boom lasting 4 years!!! Our inferiority complex knows no bounds.

Jonathan and PDP did not master the media.
They allowed Tinubu and Lai Mohammed put them on the defensive most of the time.
Can you imagine that they did nothing about the FACT that all the 36 state governors signed onto the petroleum subsidy removal in 2011? shocked

Okay, if we do what you are suggesting then where do we get dollar from if and when our current dollar reserve runs out?

Oil price is down and our dollar income has reduced significantly,,,,(Yet) you want us to continue importing like before? And paying foreign suppliers in dollars that we are not making like before. If we run out of dollar the government will have to go to IMF and world bank to borrow at crazy interest rate and inhuman terms and conditions that will impoverish the next 5 generations.

Do you people even know what you are talking about?
