ADO EKITI —TO forestall a breakdown of law and order in the gubernatorial re-run polls in Ekiti State today, stern-looking soldiers in full combat gear have been deployed in public institutions in Ado Ekiti and other major towns in the state.
The soldiers were seen yesterday standing guard at the INEC headquarters, the state University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti and the Federal Medical Centre, Ido Ekiti; Water Corporation, PHCN headquarters, NITEL headquarters, University of Ado Ekiti and the Federal  Polytechnic all in the state capital.

It is not however clear as at press time whether or not the military personnel would be drafted in Oye today to assist other security operatives.

On its part, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed its readiness to conduct the election in the two wards.

Also yesterday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Chief Ayoka Adebayo, resumed at her duty post at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission amidst tight security.
