A 20 year old Nigerian-Briton, Samantha Orobator, is currently fighting for her life in Laos as she is set to be put on trial for smuggling heroin into the tiny, communist, Asian country.  Reports have it that she has been in jail for months awaiting trial, before the British authorities heard of it and even now, she is only allowed access to her relatives and British authorities for 20 minutes every month. Reports have it that she is also now 4 months pregnant as a result of repeated sexual assaults on her while in prison awaiting trial.

Really sad story. I hope she gets off the hook and changes her ways. She should thank God that she does not have to depend on the Nigerian government to intervene on her behalf. I hope the British government will be able to help her.

She will most probably get a lighter sentence cos of external pressure and d fact that she is 5 months pregnant.

A very sad story though with relation to the pregnancy as a MEP suggested on Sky News that she most probably got rapped whilst in laos.

I kinda blame the mum abit though as it appears to me she might have been neglecting her duties as a mother. She lives in Dublin whilst Samantha lives in south London @ 20.

Obviously a dysfunctional family unit. Father lives in Nigeria, mother and two daughters live in Dublin while Samantha lives in South London. The mum didn't even know she was in Laos. She was in jail for nine full months before the British authorities found out about her case. Meaning that the mum hadn't heard from the girl for at least 9 months and didn't even bother going to the police. Shame on her
