Based on what I have been seeing and hearing around me, I av decided to come to nairaland and enlighten us on this common english error. There are times in english language when we'd rather use idiomatic expressions to save our pen ink from being drained due to long written sentences. So when someone managed to survive/succeed just barely, we say: He was not prepared for the interview but he SCRAPED THROUGH (Right) Not He was not prepared for the interview but he SCALED THROUGH(Wrong) 1 Like |
