In an interview during the 2015 CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards, Tim Jacobs, CEO and MD of MultiChoice Africa disclosed this shocking revelation.


In his words:


"Nigeria is actually one of the cheapest subscription models we run on the continent. You guys can easily go to the Internet and see what consumers in other countries pay. 


Nigeria pays $20 cheaper than, probably, all of your neighbours. Now, some of that is because of other considerations… there’s the VAT rate and other things the consumer has to pay for in other countries.



But Nigeria is a very affordable pay television market; it is one of the cheapest in the world."



// Sometimes we just don't appreciate what we have. We actually don't know the value of what we have until we loose them.


We just have to go out into the world and see what goes on in other countries, then we'll realise that we actually enjoying heaven on earth in our own country.
