According to wikipedia, photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that employs images to tell a news story. It is usually understood to refer to still images.

Since the inception of the Buhari-led administration, the internet - including blogs and forums - has been inundated with a daily dose of pictures showing the president carrying out his function as the president of the most populous black nation.

It is however pertinent to note that most of these pictures are irrelevant especially in light of the problems the nation currently faces.

If it is not a picture of the president and his cows, it is a picture of how the president was received in another country. In fact, for the first time in our national life, we are aware of a widely celebrated position known as the official photographer of the president (Bayo Omoboriowo). Did I hear you ask celebrated? Yes,he is celebrated. Even his wedding was all over social media courtesy of being the official presidential photographer.

The other day,a picture and a thread was created on this forum with the title what the president face really looks like.

At this stage of our national life and with the current economic impasse that the country is experiencing, I doubt that what we need now are more pictures of the president doing even the most mundane of things like ascending and descending the presidential jet or waving to people.

What we need right now are pictures that will uplift the psyche of Nigerians. Pictures that will motivate and inspire us. Photos showing the president in action, commisioning completed projects, getting briefings at project sites are the kind of pictures we should be seeing henceforth.

Whoever it is that is in charge of the president's PR will do us and him a lot of good by reducing the quantity of unnecessary pictures of the president that floods the internet. What Nigerians elected is a president and not a social media paparazzi loving celebrity. Those pictures right now are becoming a nuisance!

You have a point, but I think commissioning of project or taking brief are a little to early mainly cos he is taking his time to understand the situation Nigeria found herself in and it is the smart thing to do, not just getting to office borrow money to start projects or paying salaries. Without understanding that most of the funds might end in the wrong hands, like ghost workers and corrupt gov't official.

GOD Bless Nigeria and everyplace else.

Governors are mini-presidents too. Prior to the nullification of his election, wike had a hands-on approach to gorvenance. Same can be said of El-rufal and Governor Ikpeazu of abia despite that those were new governors coming on board and were facing similar challenges to the Federal government. So that idea of allowing him time to fully grasp the challenges facing the nation is so old-school right now.

Gov Ikpeazu of Abia, was luck to have a prudent former governor that managed the state resources better. The bailout fund it got from FG was channeled to capital projects and sort current reoccurring cost, Kaduna yes the FG could emulate her but the difference is FG had to deal with the national problem of bailing out most of the state that could not pay salaries. The state don't have that problem to deal with, as for the rivers state gov't borrowing go start capital project with thinking of paying back using dwindling oil price which having Hugh effects on the economy is just piling Hugh debt on the country. In all, my opinion is with the dwindling oil prices. Its better to know the nature of the economy in regards to demand and supply, the stabilising factor, and blocking or plunging or loopholes to wastage. Then we can begin downsizing, cut cost of running gov't, and open new opportunities in other sectors. With policies like this, jobs are created and more wealth for the nation or economy but this is a long term thing.
