What has become of the ambulance in Nigeria? All over the world when you see an ambulance with the siren on immediately you know there is an emergency, someone is either injured or very sick. But not the case here in Nigeria, most children even adults once they see the ambulance will start crying because it signifies death, it used only to carry dead people. All old station wagon cars has the inscription on them boldly written "AMBULANCE "
Nollywood too has helped Nigerians to promote this trend, as soon as you see an ambulance in our local films it's heading straight to one rural community, you see old men shaking there heads women weeping that someone is dead.
This is really bad please can we as a nation be properly educated on the use of the ambulance. I tell you if they set a question on what is an ambulance today as a jamb question most students will write an ambulance is they used in bringing the remains of mazi Chukwudi home.
