Corruption is what we talk about everyday, it is something we complain about, something whose negative impact we all recognise, it is something that even the corrupt themselves acknowledge it is bad.

The tragedy is that those who engage in corruption love it while those who donnot engage in the act accommodate it. Our level of tolerance for corruption in Africa is amazing. In Africa, we tend to hang the small thieves while we elect the BIG thieves into public offices, hence Africa remains the poorest continent on earth.

We live in a continent where we celebrate thieves and vilify the good men and women-- that is the tragedy of the African continent.

We live in a continent today where our young women, upon attaining puberty, cannot afford to buy sanitary pads but our public servants (politicians) have IPADS which they dont know how to use.

We live in a continent today where out leaders who preside over our health sectors have no faith in the sector such that when they or their families are sick they run away to seek for treatment in Germany, France, US, UK and India. That is the tragedy of our continent.

We live in a continent today where the political leaders have no faith in the educational sector; They bring unto us free primary education, universal basic education but they can NEVER dare take their children to those schools.

Africans still engage in primitive accummulations. Many public servants and politicians will never rest till they have buildings in different capitals of the world which they will never live in; they have cars which they will never drive; they have beds of gold which they will never sleep on; they buy food which they will never eat because they lost their appetites long time ago. We live in sad times in Africa.

We live in a continent where our leaders fight corruption on the pages of newspapers and media houses.

CORRUPTION is the tragedy that has befallen our continent, youths arise and fight this rapidly metastasizing tumour before we will all be consumed and destroyed beyond repair. A stitch in time, our elders say, saves nine.!!!!
