hello I have an Opel Omega, year 2000, benzine, engine 2000, not automatic Can anyone tell me what does it mean when the Bord Computer in my car shows all the time Coolant Level  ?What is the general opinion regarding Opel Omega ?Hope that someone can help me on this, Thanks |

The display showing "low coolant" won't be the on-board computer, rather the Driver's Information System / Autocheck. If your coolant level is correct, and the temperature's between 0 and 92 degrees, then it could well be a duff sensor. Most likely the level sender in the coolant tank. General opinion on Opel / Vauxhall Omega? The 2,0 (1,998cc) Ecotec engine's not one of the best, certainly a big step backwards from the original "Redtop" 1,998cc 16V used in the Opel / Vauxhall Astra GTE / GSI and Opel / Vauxhall Calibra. Most common faults on the Ecotec motor are: EGR valve. Lambda sensor - Engine will appear to run ok, but will have lousy fuel economy. CPS (Camshaft Position Sensor) - Faulty sensor will cause poor running, limit engine rpm, or fail to start completely. Timing belt tensioner / idler (plastic) - These break up, displacing the timing belt, with catastrophic results. Rocker cover gaskets - These harden, and cause top engine oil leaks. Opel / Vauxhall Omega also rot around the rear arches, and corroded brake pipes are not uncommon. My advice? If you haven't bought the car already, I'd look elsewhere. If you already have it, then I'd be looking to get rid of it, before it turns into a money pit. |

My contribution to that model is that, the 1998ecotec 16vals is one of the worst car on earth! I own one but it has empty my account. I think pple should stop buying that model. |

I do not recommed it for you And for anyone who intend buying that car! Except that person has enought money to do lots of it's enormous problems. People i know that uses that car end up selling it at a very cheap rate to spare parts dealers to butcher, |
