2015 Presidential Poll Result Consolidated Nigeria's Unity------ex- Biafran Sol by Tinablack: 1:40pm On Nov 05, 2015
Former  Biafran  commander, Capt. Leo Nnadi has  said that the reason  Nigeria still stands united today was because  All Progressives Congress(APC) won the election rather than the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)

There was a world-wide opinion that  Nigeria , the biggest but most fragile democracy in the black world may disintegrate  by 2015 based on  forecasts by certain U.S organizations which were re-in forced by myriad centrifugal forces at play , especially before the 2015 general elections.

Capt. Nnadi  who warned  before the election that  there could be bloodshed if Buhari lost  the election because of  the way the  PDP  jettisoned zoning  and its insistence on pushing through President Goodluck Jonathan's re-election, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that  Jonathan lost the election because a lot of people , especially from the North found his contesting for that election reprehensible and massively voted for his opponent.

'' Muhammadu  Buhari's victory in  that election was a thaw in the brewing  national crisis.  you can see that the concern over imminent disintegration of the country which rent the air before the election has died down'', he emphasized.

The ex-Biafran  Army officer who has harbored  bullets in his body for the past 45 years following the  bullet injury sustained during the war, noted that  Nigerians  were already hungry for change at the  time of the election  and Buhari who had a pedigree for stickling to discipline and anti-corruption principle.

''The way the Nigerian state was drifting, the country was being pillaged by few who impoverish the masses, crimes increased in forms and magnitude  while there was general loss of humanity among Nigerians, leading to  general disenchantment'', he said .

Nnadi who is running a small medicine shop in Port Harcourt  noted that it was this loss of humanity among  wealthy  Nigerians and the ruling class  could have laid to his failure in obtaining  financial assistance to travel abroad to removed the bullet that had lodged  in his chest region  since the war despite his appeals to some individuals and the governor of his state.

Recalling how he got the injury  the army officer who also lost one eye as a result of the bullet that hit him at the war said:  ''it was at the battle of Ngo Okpalla.   After being  commissioned as captain. One of my first tasks was to command  troops to confront rampaging federal troops .

That was July 29,1969 when  we met the federal  soldiers face to face at Umuogbbonta, Ngo Okpalla, and a fierce battle ensued during which my troops took heavy casualties. A 2.5 mm bullet also hit me on the shoulder and had remained there since.  it was a very bad day and it was a miracles that I survived but sadly ,I have never been a complete human being since then''.(ENDS)
