Barcelona star Lionel Messi and United States women's midfielder Carli Lloyd are among the 10 names on the shortlist for the 2015 FIFA Puskas Award.

Messi, who is selected for a goal he scored against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey final in May, is also joined by a host of players from across the game -- from David Ball of League One club Fleetwood Town to Carlos Tevez.

Messi collected the ball just inside his own half before beating five men and slotting a shot into the bottom corner. Barcelona went on to beat Athletic 3-1 to lift the Copa Del Rey at the Camp No
Lloyd, who plays her club football for Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League in the U.S., scored an outstanding goal in the final of the Women's World Cup against Japan in July. With goalkeeper Ayumi Kaihori out of her goal, Lloyd produced an amazing chip shot from the halfway line -- she scored a hat trick in the first 16 minutes of the final as the U.S. won 5-2.

Fleetwood striker David Ball showed neat skills on the ball to create some space before chipping a shot into the top corner against Preston North End.
Tevez's goal, which he netted while still at Juventus in a Serie A game against Parma last November, saw him pick up the ball well inside his own half, hold off one defender and go on to beat three more before breaking into the area and coolly finishing.

Also on the shortlist is Gonzalo Castro of Real Sociedad, who rifled home an outstanding dipping volley from a tight angle against Deportivo de la Coruna in La Liga in April.

The only goal to be nominated from the UEFA Champions League was scored by AS Roma's Alessandro Florenzi. The defender picked up a loose ball deep in the Barcelona half before bursting down the right flank. He then lofted an unbelievable effort over goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen from the touchline just inside the Barca half.

Wendell provides the one strike which comes from South America, netted for Atletico-GO against Goianesia in Brazil's Campeonato Goiano in March. He scored with a fine bicycle kick from 10 yards out after a running on to a lofted pass through the centre.

AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes scored his goal in an International Champions Cup friendly against city rivals Inter. He produced a stunning right-footed volley from the edge of the area, lashing home after meeting a corner kick, in July.

SC Paderborn's Marcel Ndjeng also netted his goal in a friendly, against Bolton Wanderers in July. Ndjeng's shot was instinctive, fired straight in with a first-time volley from the edge of the centre circle.

The final nominee is Esteban Ramirez, scoring for Herediano against Deportivo Saprissa in the Costa Rican Primera Division. Ramirez used his head and his chest to juggle the ball past a defender, and then volleyed home an unstoppable effort.

The shortlist will be reduced to a final three on Nov. 30 ahead of the crowning of the winning at the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony on Jan, 11.

Here are the names of the nominee and their respective clubs
