Wada, Umahi, Others Worst Governors —report by abiolert(m): 10:29am On Nov 08, 2015
Governors Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Idris Wada (Kogi), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi) have been rated as the worst performing among the 36 state governors in the country.

The governors of Kaduna (Nasir El-Rufai) and Sokoto (Aminu Tambuwal) states, were rated as the first and second best performing governors with 72 per cent 64 per cent, respectively.

This is according to a comparative analysis of governors’ performance in Nigeria carried out by Lagos-based Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies.

The study tagged, ‘Governors Performance Index,’ is a monthly performance review of what governors across the country are doing in their offices and it is conducted by the Lagos-based CIAPS.

In a statement issued on Friday by the centre’s Coordinator, Mr. Olumuyiwa Ayoola, the report noted that the variables used as indexes for performance were “mathematically calculated.”

Ayoola stated that the variables had been skewed to place emphasis on “payment of salary, new projects, education, security and leadership by example.”

According to him, activities of each state governor were monitored and studied from their first day in office and the findings were graded and compared to that of fellow governors across the country.

The statement pointed out that in October, the CGPI results showed that Emmanuel, Yari, Wada, Geidam and Umahi were the least performing governors in the country.

The CGPI report indicated that the five governors finished in the bottom places with not more than a score of 35 per cent.

Commenting on the study, the CIAPS Director and the CGPI Chair, Prof. Anthony Kila, said that the “CGPI is a useful tool for democracy and good governance as it allows government to be objectively measured against their peers and compels all in power to be mindful of accountability.

“The variables used for measuring governors performance this month (October) takes into account that most of the state governors are new to office while some have been there for a longer period of time.”

Kila said he hoped that the CGPI monthly reports would allow governors to sit up, improve their performances during their tenure and engage in healthy competition among themselves for the benefit of their states and the country as a whole

The responds of many on this report seems to be sounding wada wada as the target,no in Ebonyi state this report is very correct Engr.Dave Umahi is vitually the worst of all the worst Govs, peple are not paid their hard earned salaries, yet Umahi proceeded to fresh campign in IDP’s camps, went on a Ram bonanza to Northern Emirs who never asked him for anything, while Ebonyians don’t even have means of celebrating forth coming Xmas, this Man went down wt trailer loads of rice to IDP camps, federal Govt are fully taking care of displaced persons very well via NEMA,there are victims of Boko haram in Ebonyi from the North who lost families and bussiness,Dave Umahi never asked after them,He went on bribing even the Justice Thereza Ikochi who sat over the Tribunal in Ebonyi and even many others against the wish of Ebonyians. Umahi got himself indicted last week when vocally lashed on the members of house of assemblies as street boys and that non of them stood in for election that he paid for their results, meaning that there was actually no election in ebonyi state, both his victory and that of house of asembly were all paid for to the inec, they not voted for by ebonyians.yet tribunal upheld his paid for election in ebonyi acording to his vocal confession.
This APC administration is grand Corruption Manufacturing Demo-military Hausa fulani agender Govt ever witnessed in Nigeria.
The Judiciary is in a mess having removed the vail covering the womans status, symbol of Justice now see who is who, that’s why Taraba state tribunal gave Jugement on a non issue like party primary nomination, let go to Benue state,Gov Urtom came into guber race after primaries issues were done with, yet bcus is APC nobody saw that.
In my case as ADC Guber candidate in Ebonyi state INEC is yet to give me my PVC,I protested in a letter that under no circumstance shld INEC get me disenfrichized from voting as Governorship candidate in this year April 11 election no responds till date, yet INEC declared Umahi a winner, why did Umahi’s PVC did not miss,PDP and INEC knew what happened to my PVC
