The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says assignment of portfolios to the new ministers “does not inspire confidence that there is any change being introduced in the system”.

Alleging that the president “dramatised the inauguration of his cabinet”, the party asked the ministers to hit the ground running.

“The present administration has so far played heavily on dramatising routine procedures and processes, which was even glaring in the prolonged swearing-in ceremony of the ministers,” Olisa Metuh, PDP spokesman, said in a statement.

The party said with the inauguration, the APC administration should fully resolve the issues on the actual position of the nation’s economy.

“Whereas President Muhammadu Buhari had announced that the nation is bankrupt to the extent he cannot pay his ministers, his new minister of information had contradicted him directly by stating how the government is buoyant and ready to deploy $2.5 billion infrastructure fund, saved N1.4 trillion with another N2.5 trillion ready as special intervention fund, which goes to say that the country is not actually broke,” the statement read.

“These new ministers should note the challenge before them regarding the image of the country which the APC government has changed from being the ‘Heart of Africa’ and a country of ‘Good people, Great nation’ to that of ‘Corrupt people, Broke nation.’

“Furthermore, we counsel the ministers, especially those who will be the face of the government, to note that the campaigns are over. Nigerians therefore will no longer condone propaganda, lies and deceit but expect a responsible dissemination based on truth, honesty and openness.”

Auxiliary Nurse Metuh...I was hoping to see reasons why Buhari's Ministers do not represent change, but all I see is your usual disjointed wailings!!! Seems u are now a wailing addict that must wail just about anything.

I have seen alot of myopic wailers who are always quick to say Buhari said we are broke where is he seeing money to do this or that just like auxiliary nurse Metuh is alleging.

Need I remind anyone that Nigeria makes money every day? A billionaire that worths 100 billion suddenly worths 10 billion. To the billionaire he is broke...but to average citizens and the super poor people like the Wailers always crying for their 5k stipend he isn't broke. NIGERIA IS BROKE COS HER RESERVE IS NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE COS IT WAS DEPLETED BY THE PREVIOUS WICKED GOVERNMENT

Many more years of wailing!!!
