The Burning Spear handed an emphatic 6-0 defeat to Djibouti on the road to set up a formality for their second leg first round game on Tuesday

Swaziland are inching closer to a meeting with Nigeria in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers after dispatching Djibouti 6-0 in their first leg, first round game in Djibouti on Friday.

The Sihlangu Semnikati, ranked 135th in the world, scored five second half goals to defeat their hosts and will look to consolidate on the win then they host the second leg on Tuesday in Lobamba.

The winner of the two-legged encounter will face continental giants and three-time African champions Nigeria in the second round.

Swaziland’s victory equaled the biggest away win in African World Cup qualifying history against Djibouti who are the lowest-ranked team in Africa and joint lowest-ranked team in the world in 206th place.

Swaziland’s goals were scored by Mthunzi Mkhontfo, Sabelo Ndzinisa, Muzi Dlamini, Sandile Hlatjwako, Tony Tsabedze and Mxolisi Lukhele.

The Burning Spear would look forward to facing the Super Eagles in two key matches in November.
