Fashola Is A Capitalist, Too Many Capital Intensive Projects, Pls Come Down. by walakolobo: 6:38pm On May 18, 2009 |
Ten lane road that will be completed in four years and many more capital intensive projects embarked upon by Fashola has nothing in stock for the dying common man in the state, he is a capitalist who doesnt have programmes for the masses, can someone please tell him to come down and do something fo the teeming hungry masses? These monies he is spending can go a long way to do good for the poor in the state. |

You are not serious. So he suppose to spend all the govt money providing free food, health, shelter, etc. The infastruture he is embarking on is to provide an avenue to encourage companies to start business in Lagos, when that happens it is the masses that will be hired. Thats the best way to solving the problem of proverty, provide the infastructure and get people to come and invest Look at the united states they have started handing over govt housing ( chicago, Brooklyn, Harlem) to private sector, because they are realising the govt cannot afford to be building an maintaining this kind of infastructure. and the Badagry road is necessary becasue it is the gateway to ECOWAS. So manufacturers, oil companies, banks can be able to move their goods and services to other west africa countries. Also plans to open up the badagry area to tourism. All this will provide employment for the masses and not have to wait for govt handout |

ROFLMAO, if that is ur definition of a capitalist then it would be nice if the government, federal, state, local and all those in between become capitalists as well. |

Lol If you embark on CAPITAL intensive projects, that means you are a CAPITALIST. If you embark on social projects like Eyo festival, okonko or argungu, that means you are a SOCIALIST; if you embark on Community services, that means you are a COMMUNIST. I learn a lot from Nairaland. |

Okay, my point has been proved. I see a lot of double talk on NairaLand, it seems to me it is guided by what party you belong to, what tribe you belong to or what side of the bed you woke up from. These same people who count anything done by the central government as a waste of tax payers money, the same people who shout to the heavens on every project initiated by the central government, the same people who will rather the government provide food and social infrastructure, these are the same people also lauding the spending of money in Lagos State, I now learn one thing, on NairaLand, expect double talk, expect political sidelining, expect tribal sidelining, do not expect objective discuss. Thank you all, the moderator can now close this thread, I now know the people to take seriously and those not to take seriously, I have read loads of comments from these same people when it comes on lambasting and criticising the central government, nothing is spared, no project is necessary when it is initiated by the central government, but when it is Lagos, he might as well spend the whole money on such project and neglect the hungry people. hmmm, human beings will always be human beings. |

the president promised to declare a state of emergency in the power sector which he described as a failed sector that is fundamentally slowing down the nation’s economic progress. that was what he said in 2007, and we r now in 2009 still no CONSTANT supply of power. |

Strict pursuit of the 7-Point Agenda will widen opportunities through provision of functional infrastructure, enhanced human capacity, wealth creation and increased emphasis on food security and affordable housing. Realisation of the key Agenda items in the short and medium-term, namely: addressing the challenges of the critical infrastructure gap, bringing succour to the chronic socio-economic crises in the Niger Delta, achieving enhanced human capital development, ameliorating the inadequacies of our Food sector, implementing land tenure and home ownership reforms aimed at freeing the wealth in our land resources, addressing the challenges of National security and creating a conducive environment for wealth creation, would deliver on the 2020 vision. for your info . that is actually the last paragraph of the 7 point agenda , so there is no gain in throwing cheap shots at people when you said{ go read properly } in fact i have just read 2x that bloody 7 point agenda and trust me that guy given 39 yrs will never achieve any.so compare like with like pls. |
