Deadline: MTN Nigeria Fails To Meet N1.04 Trillion Fine by TechRez(m): 9:54am On Nov 16, 2015
The Nigeria Communications Commission set today, November 16, as the deadline for MTN Nigeria to pay up a fine of N1.04 trillion.

MTN Group CEO Sifiso Dabengwa resigned amidst talks between the company and Nigeria authorities. MTN shares equally plummeted, with investors pessimistic about the outcome of the hefty fine.

However, authoritative sources independently told TechRez that MTN is yet to meet the fine terms, but continues to plead with the commission for a reduction of 80 per cent.

An anonymous source also said that MTN, on Friday, asked the commission to allow it pay the fine within two years. The source claims the meeting ended in a deadlock as neither the Federal Government nor NCC approved the proposal.

At this time, effort to get response from the Nigeria Communications commission yielded no result. The commission is yet to release a statement following MTN’s inability to meet the terms and conditions of the fine.

Good suggestion.
May be the government can start involving people in the decision making.
#smartgovernment something inline with Bukola saraki's plan.
I hope we will get the facebook address as soon as the senators finish their FACEBOOK training, not just some profile picture of somebody eating gala and lacasera or buying bush meat as a dividends of democracy.

OK sir, maybe you advise ncc not me sir.

Hypochritecy on the high. So they should continue to disobey the law of the land? Simply because their closure will take Nigeria down to their knees?

Let Nigeria do things right and see if they wont disobey the law!
Did you even know NCC shouldn't issue certificate to etisalat?

Well...let MTN leave Nigeria and lets see how things go!
