Sorry, The Riemann Hypothesis Has Almost Certainly Not Been Solved by dammycrane000: 7:03pm On Nov 17, 2015
Rumors are swirling that Opeyemi Enoch, a professor from the Federal University of Oye Ekiti in Nigeria, has solved the Riemann Hypothesis, a problem that has vexed mathematicians for over 150 years. Too bad it’s not true.

As reported in the BBC, The Telegraph, Yahoo! News, and many other publications, the Nigerian professor is claiming to have solved the problem, thus making him eligible for a $1 million dollar prize. Enoch has yet to make his solution public, so his claim has yet to be verified.

The problem, posited by mathematician Bernard Riemann in 1859, involves the average distribution of prime numbers (a straightforward, relatively non-mathy explanation can be found here). It’s one of seven Millennium Problems in Mathematics, a contest run by the Clay Mathematics Institute (CMI).

It may still be true when verified. The rumors is pretty much even to the height of international mainstream media.

Jeez man, our self deprecation is legendary.
It hasnt been proved that he "didn't" solve the Riemann hypothesis, just that the institute has not formally declared the problem solved.

In other news, I don't expect the whiteys to agree that a black man solved that hypothesis when their best brains couldn't. They'll find a way to refute his claims and then a white guy will "mysteriously" solve it a decade from now.

Una never understand wetin dey ground.

If this clown had anything he'd have published and it would currently be under review. Note that the review process could even take years, depending, before it becomes accepted as correct. Now, you certainly wait for that to go some ways first before you start making mouth. As it stands, so far all that has been spotted is blatant plagiarism
