Sunderland could go down if they lose to Chelsea, and both Newcastle and Hull win. . .meaning all three of the north-east clubs have a vested interest in the side Sir Alex Ferguson sends out against Hull City. Sunderland have had a rough season, pre, during, and post Roy Keane. Now this is their final chance to avoid relegation. . .they have got a lot of work cut out for them against Chelsea. Chelsea's interim coach Guus Hiddink has promised Sunderland's relegation rivals that he will not rest many of his top stars in their final game of the season on Sunday. Sunderland are only two points clear of the relegation zone and need to win their final game at home to Chelsea to guarantee a place in the Premier League next season. But fears that Chelsea would field an understrength side at the Stadium of Light have been soothed by the Dutch coach. The match comes six days before Chelsea play Everton in the FA Cup final at Wembley but their chances of snatching second place in the league look remote. ''I don't want to rest a lot of people because they need to maintain their physical shape and also the way we want them to play,'' said Hiddink. "If I rest too many people then I don't think it's good preparation for Wembley''. So, too bad for Sunderland, and so good for Newcastle and Hull City. |

I don't see Chelsea slowing down a bit for this match. It isn't our fault that Sunderland could not win their matches to stay out of this relegation quagmire.Whether Chelsea fields a strong team or not,I expect the players that would be fielded out there tomorrow to put in a good performance in order for us to end the season on a high note. |

Game over. Entertaining second half. Chelsea carries the day 3-2. S'land however survives and therefore remain in the EPL. A roller coaster season I have to say. |
