Wike's Loyalists Are Responsible For Violence In Rivers- Group by hgnbello(m): 3:23pm On Nov 22, 2015 |
Some loyalists of Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, are being fingered in the violence and kidnappings in the state. This allegation was made by a group, Rivers Progressives Front (RPF) which stated further that the governor’s boys carrying out those attacks are some of those he employed to perpetrate series of atrocities during the last gubernatorial election in the state. According to PM News, the group’s spokesperson, Elder Tamuno Iyalla, informed that it is terribly concerned about the trend of things that have almost totally disorganised and dislocated social and economic life in the state. “But more worrying is the emerging pieces of evidence that the supporters of Gov. Wike are also those behind the heightened state of violence and insecurity in Rivers State. “On Thursday, some people were arrested by the police at Ada-George Road with three AK-47 rifles and 300 ammunition given to them. Based on their confession, they were given the arms by an official of Emohua Local Government. “As we make this gruesome development public in this press release, Gov. Nyesom Wike is putting pressure on the police to release the suspects,” a statement by the group read. The group is now pleading with the state’s commissioner of police, Musa Kimo, to ensure that his men do not bow to pressure from the governor, and make it sure they carry out a thorough investigation on the matter so that the culprits can be brought to book. The statement read further: “We remind the commissioner of police to realise that his reputation and office are being endangered by the activities of criminals who enjoy the support of Wike’s government officials. “This is the time for the commissioner to bring to the knowledge of all Rivers people and Nigerians that the intractable violence and insecurity in Rivers State are all induced and sustained by the present Rivers State government officials, directly and indirectly.” In a related development, the governor has been accused by the state’s chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of carrying out retribution against persons, people, relations or spouses of those perceived to have worked for the Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi administration. This is coming in the wake of the governor’s order that 14 permanent secretaries in the state, many of whom were appointed by Amaechi, go into compulsory retirement. https://www.naij.com/645132-revealed-wikes-boys-killing-kidnapping-people-rivers.html |

the kidnapping rate is very high in the state but when amaechi was the governor of the state the crime was not that high as it is now. Wike realy needs to do something abt security issues in the state for people not to believe that his boys are behind all the crime that is happening there. |
