*I will advise people not to keep phones or valuables beside Windows or on the bed. * Keep valuables in lockers and ensure they are tightly closed. *Buy cheap Nokia fones and keep on the floor away from the window for emergency controls *If possible secure the lower part of ur Windows with wire mesh and space about 5cm apart. *Alternatively, fasten a kinda thick material to the lower part of the window to block view and easy access. *Place empty tins by the Windows that will create a loud noise when they fall down. *Electrify the ironmongery and energize at bedtime. * activate alarm sensors around the Windows. * move your bed far away from the windows. * Never lay your head by the window, better have your legs down there. * be observant of foot or shoe prints on the floors around your Windows. *sleeping under mosquito net, it serves as a fence. * build another curtain wall about 60cm away from the window and decorate with jingle bells. (You can easily slide it open in the morning). *be vigilant when you wake up to urinate. *Always keep a torch beside your bed. *have safety discussions with your family and plan your safety together. * turn your CCTV or spy cameras on and position them properly. *have the police or Vigilante distress numbers on a chart by the corridor or entrance. *ensure the dogs are let out and unchained * lubricate all door hinges and rotating electronic devices to avoid confusing noise. * don't sleep with earplugs, earphones or headphones on. * try to discuss any abnormalities observed (at night) with your family. * pray to God for your safety, but don't fold hands and just pray, while you pray also make an action. Prayer goes with work. *have a checklist of valuable things to ensure they have all been stowed at safe places. *keep your power plant at a safe distance and use acoustic panels to keep the noise low *use Window blinds, but ensure they are of strong material (cos the boys come handy). * keep a machete under your bed for defense * if your Window is in a recess, build a pavement up to a meter high or store some items to reduce proximity * whatever you do, don't panic! Stay calm, think and act fast. |
