I have noticed that both words are often confused by Nigerians and a lot of people use "Thrash" where they should have used "Trash".

Trash refers to something bad or refuse or something useless. In context " The story written about the man was Trash"

while Thrash refers delivering a physical beating or alternatively to shake violently. In context "the boy was thrashed for stealing"
