I have been doing a little reading lately and I've started reading about the Aro Confederacy. It seems they were very involved in trading slaves to the Europeans. Were these slaves criminals? Were there some type of caste system which made the lower class expendable? Were these people loser of war between groups inside/outside the confederacy? Just thought it was interesting... I would like a little feedback from descendents of these people... Sorry, I'm not too knowledgeable about Nigerian cultures... I'm American...This place Arochukwu? Does it still stand?
