Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa (British name) - Slave trade period

During the slave period the white men always ask for igbo slaves, because they are strong and industrious than other tribe, a man called Olaudah Equiano from igbo descent; was kidnapped and sold as a slave when he was about 11 year old. He was the first African slave to buy his freedom in 1765 when he was about 20 years old, for the price of 40 pounds. And he is also the first African slave to write an autobiography to fight against human slavery, which gain wide recognition and helped in the abolition of human slavery.
