Fashola Will Not Succeed As Minister – PDP by baloney: 10:55am On Nov 25, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos state
has emphatically stated that minister of
works, power and housing, Babatunde
Fashola, who was the immediate past
governor of the state, would underperform.

Olisa Metuh, PDP National Publicity Secretary

The party further said that Fashola will fail as
a minister.
This disclosure was made by the publicity
secretary of the main opposition party in the
state, Taofik Gani, in an interview with The
Punch.
Gani stated that the 8-year tenure of Fashola
rendered quite a number of Lagosians
homeless.
The party’s mouthpiece said that Fashola
had said in 2013 there was nothing like low
cost housing as there is no low-cost cement
or low-cost labour.
He added that Fashola demolished slums in
its place built expensive estates at the
detriment of the poor wondering if the
minister would continue with his ‘elitist style
of leadership’ even in poor areas in the
country.
Gani said: “Can Fashola point to any low-
cost housing scheme he did in his eight years
as governor? The houses he built under the
Lagos Home Owners Scheme cost about
N15m on average. Can the Eko Atlantic –
which cost hundreds of millions of naira to
buy – be classified as affordable housing?
Can Fashola be compared with former
Governor Lateef Jakande who built over
20,000 housing units in four years?
“There is nothing super about Fashola. He
was only compensated by President
Muhammadu Buhari because Lagos
contributed greatly to Buhari’s campaign .”
The PDP explained that Fashola failed
woefully in the area of work during his tenure
as governor saying that those works that
were credited to him were done by private
companies and concessionaires.
The party stressed that some of the projects
implemented in Victoria Island was carried
out by banks as part of Corporate Social
Responsibility Programmes.

Which one did they do? As governor he built housing estates that cost 15m in lagos

How many did the former housing minister build?
How many did jona build in bayelsa as governor?
How many did akpabio build as governor?
How many did fayose build?
How many did ta orji build
How many did elechi build

Thank God u acknowledge he built houses, tho costly to your logic...since 1999 combine all the ministers of housing, the houses they built were not even up to 20percent of houses fashola built in lagos

The motherfucker think after using over 15million naira to build a a house, the government should give it out to people for just 1million naira...useless fools

There's a possibility he might not succeed.

It's not playing bitter opposition politics, I can't help but wonder how Lagos State governor, Ambode managed to rehabilitate more than 250 roads just in Lagos just under 6months if actually Fashola was an active governor. For the umpteenth time, the workloads of the Ministries of Power, Works and Housing will be overwhelming for Mr Fashola.

I'm afraid the government after Buhari might rehabilitate 5000 roads just after 3 months in office.

Seems like Buhari has a penchant for rewarding partial failures. Amaechi, Transportation minister that couldn't complete his monorail project in Port Harcourt as governor of Rivers state.

You can't predict the end of a race before it is started. This is a unguided and unintelligent utterance from the PDP. You don't have to be on the opposing side 24/7.

why I may bring like the motive of PDP for this criticism, Oliseh does have a point: Fashola is really without a doubt was an elitist governor. As a leader, he has a record for doing things that benefit the rich and upper class. He doesn't really care that much about projects targeted towards the poor and lower class.

During his reign as governor, areas like, Ikotun-Egbe, Ipaja, Agege, Ejigbo were practically abandoned. Roads in elitist areas were done and redone several times over while nothing happened in the low class areas. Also, like Oliseh Metuh said, all his housing projects and other initiatives leaned towards the rich and upper class.

Nurse Metuh has really lost it! He should be listing out all the world class roads they built in the last 16 years likewise mass housing estates Nigerians are presenting living in before any sound minded individual can listen to him! cheesy cheesy cheesy

My brothers. Fashola is a human like you and I. Fashola is not a magician. That's why we need continuity in governance. The problems facing lagos state can't be solved by one man and it can't be solved within 8 years. Whether he built expensive houses for the rich or not, the fact which cannot be dabated remains that ''Fashola Performed''

PDP should tactfully refrain from making any political statements and allow public opinion bury APC. It seems APC gathers strength when its APC VS PDP. PDP is never an option for the masses whenever they are done with APC.

I have told this gani guy to act normal for once.

This slowpoke lived in mafoluku oshodi and he his but a glorified tout.

Can pdp lagos point to one bungalow built by pdp either at the federal level or any state in Nigeria for the 16 years pdp ruled Nigeria.

So if I buy a fashola house for 15m I am also an elite....

Pdp a failed party that did not build one bungalow in 16years is here to lecture us on a performing government r that built estates.

Brother gani is really a foolish yoruba man. Well I am not surprise, the animal is all about his pocket. He lives on adesanya street in mafoluku, unmarried close to 45, the bros is a total failure.

So normal people like us that bought LASG houses are elite too.....

But why is pdp lecturing us on performance, did pdp built any house in its 16 years.
