Most Muslims and their way of thinking still remains a mystery to me. Visit the North and see children littered everywhere with little or no parental care. These little children are left on their own to fend for themselves (begging with their plates) at a very young age under harsh conditions.

This makes me think of a select few Muslims who are married to just one wife and have less than 5 children. Don't these set of Muslims employ birth control measures in their lives? Does their lifestyle weaken their faith as Muslims?


At the end of the day, it is these abandoned children on the streets that take up arms (after being bribed with some money) to kill other innocent people(of other faith inclusive) and destroy homes and properties on the request of a few disgruntled elements.


The Northerns need to go back to the drawing board or they will continue to heap problems for themselves.

Of the comments i read, i didnt not see a person sid that Christainity is in support of family planning. There is no verse of the Bible that expressly supported familiy planning. And if a true christain just supports this without cogent reason, he is a innovator!
An inovator is a person who infuss his REASON into RELIGION, for region is not scientific, its purely based on faith! If not, how would a Christain professor of Mathematics believed the doctrine of TRINITY. Its commensensically wrong.

The motion as provided by the Honourable Kolawole is not only anti Islam it is at odds with the core African culture and family values. The use of contraptives as population control is a terrible idea and should be shunned by the FG.

There has been a concerted move by western countries through insincere NGO to curb the population of Africa for their own gain.

We are many in Nigeria and that has made our troubles more pronounced and harder to solve however, contraceptives should only be used for birth control as a personal choice rather than a government subsidised or enforced effort at population control; otherwise mass chemical castration etc would be the order of the day. u dont have to be insultive over it. Even u might've been guilty in generalisation of things, from seeing niger deltans as militants, to d yorubas as dirty to d igbos as bad or men as cheaters etc, irrespective of who has done d wrong. The marriage of many wives and the practice of breeding large families is not culturally exclusive to the north, but rather a practice throughout most of Nigeria from North to South, East to West.

My grandfather a Yoruba man had 64 children and his elder brother bettered him. Many Yoruba men have large families traditionally and many still keep the practice alive.

Polygamy is very much alive in SW and other areas. I don't even think northern men are half as randy as SW Yoruba men.

The problem with the so called one Nigeria is that regions that are supposed to be independent are now living with others with views that are diametrically opposed to theirs. There wouldn't be problem if that is what the North wants in their North and not Nigeria as a whole because we are not running a regional constitution. We need to operate regionally as it normally should or we are never together as a people of one Nigeria for every region to live as his common sense, tradition or religion appeals to him. We don't need to argue.
