Recently, a group of muslim youths have protested the ban of long hijabs in NYSC orientation camps across the country. Due to the recent security challenges we are facing, I am in total support of this ban. We cannot compromise on National Security because of religion.

If some Christian denominations can compromise on the issue of wearing trousers and even shorts during the orientation exercise. I see no reason why the temporary ban on long hijabs in orientation camps can't be accepted in good fate. Is anything wrong with short hijabs? Must it be long?

Nigeria is not more islamic than Chad, Cameroon, Congo Brazaville, Tunisia, Iran and Egypt where the use of hijabs have been banned outrightly in public. Chad, Cameroon, Tunisia and Egypt are all members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation OIC, yet their muslim citizens did not protest or resort to violence when the use of Hijabs was banned. Nigeria has not even banned the use of hijab in public outrightly yet we are screaming.

We need to be more objective and quit being sentimental. We were first humans before we became Christians or Muslims.

So it'll be easy for Boko boys to infiltrate our camps Abi? That's how they were protesting in France, and what happened?
