In the middle of the night I wake
Careful of the sound I make
I sit and think of all my mistakes
All the pains I've had to take
Bearing it like I have been handed a piece of cake
So, in silence I grieve
But on the outside a smile I wear
Knowing a smile is all I can achieve
So, I pray silently for the night to come near
Then and only then can I give in to my fears
And allow the free flow of silent tears.
