Good Question, my 1st Degree. Was in History and International Studies and it has an edge over History alone, the International Studies is more like Strategic Studies or International Relations for the career path, if you are favoured, you might end up as a Diplomat or an Ambassador, you can also work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or NIIA. The Present Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Kayode Fayemi had his 1st Degree in History and International Studies. Don't give up bro however do not force yourself into acting against your wish. well! just passing by, when I saw this post and I thought; I should just add to what the poster above me has already said. International studies and diplomacy or international relation and diplomacy, is one hell of a course that you will love and enjoy if, you set your heart; in loving it. Job prospect for you is also very high and course materials are readily available to you even after schooling. For job prospect,you can work any where the services of human is needed. I am telling you this, based on my experience as a graduate of, international studies and diplomacy.
