NCC Moves Against Unsolicited Text Messages By Service Providers by elixirnigeria: 5:41pm On Dec 01, 2015 |
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Tuesday said it is taking steps to develop a regulation that will deal with unsolicited text messages and illegal data charges to service consumers by telecommunication service providers in the country. Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta, disclosed this in Abakaliki during the First Ebonyi Youth Summit on refocusing talented Ebonyi youth for sustainable national development in training and capacity building through ICT revolution. “The commission is taking steps to develop a regulation that will deal with unsolicited text messages and illegal data charges,” he said. He explained that the NCC has been proactive and efficient in mediating between telecommunication service providers and the service consumers. Represented at the training by Austin Chucks Odoh, a Director in the Commission, the Executive Vice Chairman urged the telecom service consumers to take advantage of the toll-free numbers provided by the commission to lodge their complaints. https://www.today.ng/tech/45779/ncc-moves-against-unsolicited-text-messages-by-service-providers |
