Chairman, Arewa-APC, Lagos State, Alh Mohammadu Dandama-Yabo, has de­fended President Muham­madu Buhari over recent criticisms credited to the Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose.
Fayose had published in some national newspapers that Buhari administra­tion in six months is clue­less and has only recorded tremendous achievements in areas of political per­secution, disobedience of a court order and desperate bid to turn the country into a one-party state.
Following these allega­tions, the Lagos Arewa-APC chairman, however, refuted the claims, stress­ing that Fayose is always opposing the presi­dent in every move as he is best good at propaganda.
Dandama-Yabo main­tained that the Buhari-led APC government is clean­ing up the 16 years mess of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP which has left the country in its present condition of quagmire.
He said for meaningful change to be made in any country six months is too small to assess and hasti­ly passed judgment of fail­ure on any government especially one confronted with myriad of challenges as Nigeria.
“Six months is not enough for any individual with sincerity of heart to assess and accuse any government of failure, especially when such ad­ministration is faced with numerous problems.
“The past administra­tion and the PDP left the country in the mess we find ourselves today and that is what the president is trying to clean up.”
Defending the recent overseas travel of Presi­dent Buhari in recent times, the chairman said the moves are imperative as the rationale behind them is to facilitate sup­port of international com­munity in order to rake in the looted funds that are stuck in foreign banks by corrupt public officers in the past administrations.
He, however expressed optimism that Buhari and the APC government would deliver their elector­al promises in due course.
