The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Patrick Ziadeke Akpobolokemi and seven other staff of the agency, before Justice Salihu Sa’idu of the Federal High Court Lagos. They were arraigned on a 30-count charge of conspiracy, fraudulent conversion of funds and money laundering. Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren on Thursday, said they conspired to convert and launder several sums of money running into billions of naira under the guise of providing security intelligence around the Maritime domain. A committee on intelligence was established by the agency under the watch of Apobolokemi with the second accused person, Captain Agaba as chairman. The committee allegedly received a total sum of N1, 153,000,000 between December 2013 to July 2015.

This is commendable I hope the EFCC has all the evidence to successfully prosecute these men. One of them is even winking and giving journalists Hi-Five. Such is the level of impunity they are used to. However, these are still the small fish in the big ocean of Jonathan's corrupt empire Waiting for the day Dasuki, Bode George, Dokpesi, Diezani and others will be arraigned to face the consequences of their actions Although I do commend the efficiency of this new EFCC boss. No time! He is delivering on a daily basis Lalasticlala |

We are in serious problem in this Country. 1. It took close to 7 months to get ministers in place 2. The ministers would require not less than 3 months to settle down to the business of implementing party promises 3. Prospective projects would take at least 6 months to get approved 4. The newly approved projects would require at least 3 months to mobilize to site for take off 5. In between all these are the distractions from the corrupt officials refunding various sums 6. Distractions from various regional factions causing the diversion of resources and scaring potential investors 7. Elections season begins at least 2 years before date 8. First term is over no tangible progress made in all sector 9. Party re-elected, work continues.... New party in office cycle repeats |
