The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday stated that it was not against the arrest of its members accused of various forms of crimes.

It, however, called for fairness and transparency in the investigation and trial processes.

Reacting to Raymond Dokpesi’s arrest over alleged involvement in financial deals with the office of ex-National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki, (rtd) PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh, told Daily Trust that the party was completely in support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war.


He said people arrested should not be presumed guilty until after investigation.

PDP said it would not defend or exonerate anyone, adding that government must prove the charges it had filed.

“We have made it clear that we are completely in support of the anti-corruption drive. We are not saying anything against it, all we are saying is let it not be as if people have already been presumed guilty,” he said.

This is better than the statement released immediately after the arrest of Dokpesi.

Let the accused face the consequences of their actions.

The PDP has no option than to queue behind the fight against corruption else they risk public ridicule and a toga of anti people's party.

When I knew pdp was populated by misfits and halfbaked politicians was when they allowed Metuh to get away with his press releases that tacitlty supported corruption when it was clear PMB won because of his stance on it and vow to crush BH.
Why give impression u support a menace that worldwide is the first campaign agenda in all democracies .Even If u dont know how to solve it or dont intend to, simple polítical expediency dictates u dont go against any fight against it so as not to alienate the electorate.

Pdp just realised how much Dopkesi collected perhaps nobody knew about it in pdp before now.

I don't know how Dokpesi will survive this
