Yesterday A large number of women were seen on the busy streets of Aba, Abia state, protesting for the detention of Radio Biafra Director, Nnamdi kanu, demanding for his immediate release, it was a peaceful protest as no arms or weapons was seen on them neither were there any sign of violence,they only wish their voice to be heard.

Following their protest, here are the 3 things you should learn;

1, 80 years ago, (1929) about 25,000 Aba women coupled with Calabar and Owerri women protested over the slavery which the people are facing in the south east, history said, they organized a protest attacked European-owned stores and Barclays Bank, native courts run by colonial officers, razing many of them, broke into the prisons and released prisoners.

2, History also said that they are fearless and despite British colonial officers, who intervened, killed more than 50 women and wounded over 50 others, but Aba women's war prompted colonial authorities to drop their plans to impose a tax on the market women and curb the power of warrant chiefs.
