Due to the ongoing violence, elections in Southern Ijaw LGA has been cancelled. It is reported by yet to be confirmed source that an ex-militant leader and a general has been shot. Four persons have been killed, the house of a party chieftain in Brass has been burnt down. Though the military is gaining control, but sporadic shooting is still heard at Oporoma.
