With the massive defeat suffered by the All Progressive Congress party ) in over 6 bayelsa LGA's out of 8, coupled with the impressive sweep of votes in Amassoama town, when it rains,it truly pours for the change party.
At about 3pm, after election materials arrived and was distributed in amassoama, former environmental sanitation chairman and APC Chieftain, Mr Abel Ebifemowei snatched the ballot-box for Ward 9 and began running, but was later arrested by vigilant security personels and potential voters.
After accreditation and voting slowly wound-up at 11.26pm, within ward 9 area, Ebifemowei's son, Edubamor, again snatched a ballot box containing already counted votes from an INEC presiding officer enroute amassoama town-hall, after which, he was unfortunately ran over by a vehicle, landing him in critical condition.
Attempts by APC party supporters to mar the election after sensing imminent loss in the election was resisted by the people, thus the successful polls so far.
